Notes

Mashed with 1.75 gallons at 166F. Water reached 160 once poured into mash tun, grain added and stirred until 152F.
Mashed about 15 minutes long. Temp dropped to approx 148F. Single batch sparge (forgot second kettle) with additional 3 gallons of water at 170F (mash tun topped out).
2:10pm - Added FWH addition. Didn't catch first runnings but at 1 gallon is drained, wort is 9 Brix (1.0359).
2:25pm - 2 gallons collected. Stirred mash. Runnings are at 8 brix.
3:00pm - Sparging finished. Took 50-60 min in total. Pre-boil volume is just short of 4 gallons and gravity is about 1035 (reading 1020 on hydrometer at 134F).
Couldn't use refractometer to take OG reading, and the hydrometer reading was taken in the sludge left behind in the kettle - maybe 1.040

Other

Notes

Left fermenters at work in the basement - temp approx 65F. Can see that there was a lot of activity with them since brew day! Still bubbling, too.

Bottle / Keg

Notes

Bottled beers at the shop today. FG 1.004 taken with hydrometer. Started with Hull Melon and worked through a bunch of mishaps.... I marked one that I think got lots of O2 pushed in it :( Motueka is darker than the rest - was brought up for show a few days ago so I hope it didn't get shook up too much :/ But Motueka smells the best! No noticeable off flavors in it or the Mandarina Bavaria (didn't get to try the Hull Melon). I got 3 grolsch, (1) 12 oz,and (1) 22 oz bottle out of each. Stored in the hallway to nowhere.
